Balloon Cart Kit

If you’ve ever wanted to teach the engineering design process in a way that involves 3d printing, but didn’t know where to start, you’ve come to the right place! This 3d printable kit is intended to teach engineering students how to develop and conduct their own experiments while optimizing a balloon propelled cart. This project arose after a class activity which involved making balloon carts out of recycled materials. The purpose of the activity was to introduce students to testing various aspects of the cart, such as the wheel type and diameter; however, the actual building and collecting of materials took too long and became the main focus. The balloon cart kit is intended to solve this problem by providing pre-made 3d printed carts for students to test. Later, students can apply what they learn from the initial testing to better design their own 3d-printed carts.
