Consists of a rod (plastic tube) filled with pasty ink, and a ball writing tip located at the end of the rod. A ball pen is a pen that uses a so-called rod (tube filled with paste-like ink) with a ball-type writing unit at the end. The channel through which the ink passes is blocked at the end by a small metal ball that rolls along the surface of the paper when writing, wetting itself with ink on the back side. A small gap between the ball and the walls allows it to rotate and leave a mark on the paper when rolling. These are the cheapest, most simple and therefore the most common pens. The ink paste used in ballpoint pens differs from the ink for writing with fountain pens. It is created on an oil basis and more dense, which prevents it from flowing out of the rod.
