These parts allow mounting a 1/5 Scale Maxstone Crawler wheel assembly to the 1/2" shaft on a BaneBots P60 series gear reducer. Reducer shown is P60S-3333-57, 129:1 reduction. Motor is Racerstar 3660 Brushless Waterproof Sensorless Motor (2600kV) from BangGood. Only have two gear boxes/motors, so only built one axle so far so do not know how it will perform. Testing with 3C LiPo and suspecting may be too fast for what I want but will see in the future. Already had the 1/5 scale Maxstone Crawler. Link to purchase the wheel assemblies is: http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c00-98102.html (part number 51C00-98102.) Website says tire diameter is 115mm, but mine measure just over 185mm. Two holes to secure inside part to shaft are sized to be taped for 10-32 threads. Used 3/4" long machine screws for assembly while waiting for 10-32 x 1/2" set screws to arrive. Use flat washer and 10-32 x 1/2" machine screw to hold the outer part to the 1/2" gear box shaft. Require 1/8 key stock, 1.25" long. Assembly: - put key stock into key way on shaft with end of key stock just shy end of shaft - slide inside part onto shaft (holes should already be threaded and machine screws installed - secure outside part onto end of shaft - slide inside part all the way to end of shaft so contacts outside part - tighten set screws on inside part - remove outside part - put wheel assembly on and press on. The inside part will be slightly recessed with the outside of the wheel hub. Secure outside part to shaft. This is keyed to the key stock and will only fit in one position. Shaft on the motor I used is slightly too long for the P60 gear box. Have included a 1.5mm spacer to go between the motor and the gear box. Will need M3x10mm cap head machine screws to secure the motor to the gear box (included M3x8mm will be too short.) Update: 1.5mm and 2.0mm motor spacers do not provide enough clearance inside the gear box. Have added a 3.0mm motor spacer for the Racerstar 3660 motor. Added a 6mm motor spacer for a Turnigy XK3674 motor (3mm longer shaft). Turnigy motor has not been tested on the gear box yet. Also included a fixture I used to hold the motor square in my bench vise to allow pressing the pinion gear on the motor shaft. Requires M5x10mm (if I remember correctly!!) to press against the rear end of the motor shaft to reduce the possibility of damaging the motor bearings/shaft. Added drill templates for drilling gear box mounts. This gear box uses the 4 stage template. Made the 3 stage template the Banebots 38:1 P60 gear box (another project). Added brackets I used to hold the axle assembly to my rover chassis. Aluminum in the pictures is 2" x 1/16" aluminum angle from Lowes. The 2" angle gives a bit of room between the motor/gear box and the rover chassis to allow for a heat sink on the motor. Unit works great with the 129:1 gearboxes and the Racerstar 3660 motor. Replaced the Racerstar ESC with a re-flashed HobbyKing 60A ESC 4A UBEC (F-60A), one per motor. Works much better than the Racerstar ESC and lower in cost. No button to push to turn it on or braking whether you want it or not. Plus full reverse speed. Needed the 129:1 gear boxes for another project, so am now using: Gear Boxes: BaneBots P60S-333-57, P60 Gearbox, Standard, 38:1, For RS-500 or RS-700 Motor Motors: AndyMark am-3104, NeveRest Classic Motor ONLY (am-3104) ESC: RoboClaw 2x15A, 6-34VDC (two of these, plus encoder cables - each motor has its own ESC channel.) This combination works pretty good, too - lots of torque, and can almost climb walls. Works much better with an ESC channel per motor instead of connecting two motors in parallel. Using one RoboClaw for the two left motors and the other for the two right motors. If trying to climb an obstruction and end up with a motor in the air, if the two motors were connected in parallel (on the same ESC channel), then the motor in the air would be spinning and there would be no torque being developed in the motor trying to climb over the obstacle. 2018 April 09: Added files for parts in latest pictures - gear box mounting brackets for the 3 stage P60 gear box, underside guard and holder for 3/4 square aluminum tubing used to house motor/encoder cables to the front, fenders, blank chassis end plates (photos show temporary end plates used for construction), and mounts for 2x30A Roboclaw motor controller. Have not done anything for a top cover yet. Uploaded the correct motor/gear box support brackets.
