Baofeng Mic Cable Retainer

I wanted a way to secure and retain a Baofeng handheld mic cable to a radio, but without having to use replacement screws for the clip. This design uses the metal lanyard hole, and clips to the edge of the display screen. It seems to hold the microphone cable quite securely, and prevent it from becoming loose or being unplugged. This design does seem to work really well, but do note the following: This works best on versions of the radio that have a flat (not sloped) plastic edge of the housing that touches the screen, so it can hook onto it. Sloped version can be bent to work, but it's not as secure. YOU WILL NEED TO MODIFY THE FINAL PART WITH HEAT OR FLAME to fit your specific radio. The part is under constant tension to work, so it's strongly advised to print in a higher temp material like PETG. Low temp materials like PLA will relax in warmth (like using the radio in summer heat or leaving it in a car). Installation: I find using a flame torch works best. Apply a bit of heat to the arch where the mic cable passes through to close it in a bit. Optional: File or manipulate the nub that clips onto the screen bezel to not be as rounded and have a more sharp edge so it holds more firmly. Apply a bit of heat to the part that clips against the display screen, so it's bent inward such that it pulls harder (more tension) against the screen edge. Put the thinnest part of the mic cable into the arch, and work the long portion of the part into the metal lanyard hole, it should be a tight fit. Once it's started in, work the strain relief into the arch and plug in the mic. Fully push the plastic into the lanyard hole, and then you should be able to firmly clip the plastic hook against the edge of the screen to hold in place. (this is the part you bent in for greater tension) Hold the part firmly into the lanyard hole, and apply heat the plastic sticking through, and then bend the plastic back onto itself (or against the radio, your choice). See the photos for how it should look. Printing: I printed in PETG at 235C / 90C bed temp, with a skirt for better adhesion
