Summary This is a scale up of the Alto MP I designed . Scale was 12.7% and all I added was 35mm to the length. Apart from that it seems a Bari MP for a sax is just a scaled up Alto MP. Who would have thought that was possible !. Perfecto #7 , ( jode jazz inspired keyway) .Its an ALTISSIMO king. Dont freak out about the face. There is a little extra material there to bulk up the face but you remove that with sanding. If its not there the sanding messes up the curve. Take care to sand twice , check face, adjust grip and sand again. Dont just sand the heck out of it 10 times and then check. Measure twice cut once comes to mind. ***** New Model. Bari Perfecto #7. This was derived from extensive use on baffle inserts and putty to arrive at the perfect balance between the stock warm but stuffy sound of the remix source and a bright even tone across the whole range. Tip opening altered to a larger #7 and rails changed to offer a smaller distance between the start of the bend and the tip. Finishing is minimal on 360 grit for the flat and then gentle rounding of the curve. 3 rubs , wipe down , check , repeat. Once the face is in use 600+ grit to smooth ( not too much ) and paper for a shin. I used FFT transforms to plot the harmonics over 5 octaves ( image provided ) and you can see the smoothing and balance of these over the different baffles. Enjoy. ( See My alto MP for this detail. ) Features: 1) Perfecto 7 has a keyway and a rolling baffle to assist with altissimo . 2) Perfecto 7 has a medium back pressure and enough below the reed tip to create a small volume of space that assists with reed (rebound) . 3) the rails have a unique chamfered trim line to maintain body width while letting the reed sit exactly on the edge. 4) Bore is enlarged to allow for the slight oversize you get with printing. Print workflow: 0.1 mm step 235 deg C – PLA+ 70 Deg bed 100mm max print speed FLSUN Super Racer Delta 102% on print feed ( not scale ! ) scale at 100% only. 40% fill , cross hatch Finishing workflow: Circular trim tool to chamfer 16mm bore to at least 2mm 360 wet and dry for the flat “husky” face ( wet ) and only push forwards , not both ways otherwise you end up with a curve. 600 wet and dry for the finish and curved face. Only drag backwards and curve up at the back. Keep finger on tip and keep pressure left to right even. Check every 2 or 3 times to ensure you are on track. Only sand down till all layer lines are gone and no more. Get cardboard. Like the inside of a tissue box. With DRY cardboard repeat the above process to get a high polish. Don’t go too fast of the PLA will overheat and grab the surface
