Scans and STLs of some barnacles found on a Seattle beach. I can't quite say why, but lately I've been interested in barnacles, so I decided to stop off at the beach and scan a few. The results are uploaded here. Personally, I think the best use for these - apart from admiring their form - is to carry a pocketful and some double-sided tape and stick them tastefully on doorways and secluded corners as you go about your everyday affairs. Eventually others will notice and wonder what the devil is going on - it'll add a nice air of mystery and romance to the landscape and enhance the contrasting lines of the inorganic structures we deal with every day. WARNING: sticking them to objects you don't own may be considered graffiti or vandalism, so proceed with caution and don't break the law. I have also included the original scans - feel free to make your own versions or incorporate these into some other project. A barnacle encrusted Colbert, for example. Instructions 1: Print as many as you like. 2: Stick to whatever objects you please. 3: Post or link to pictures. 4: Be respectful of other people's property in general.
