Barrette – prints quick and flat – living hinge design

<p>A barrette. Don't know what to say. It holds hair. Features you ask? Well there are some bumps to hold on to the hair. The barrette prints flat and quick. They are great at keeping the hair out of your kids faces while they complain about not having enough screen time as you attempt to get them to do homework.</p> <p>Rather than risk heading to the drugstore and catching a contagion you can print these at home and enjoy yet another day sheltering in place with your kids.</p> <p>PLA and PETG work well. PETG is a bit more resilient... but again, it prints so quick and uses so little filament that it doesn't really matter.</p> <p>Two tips:<br/> After removing from the build plate – re-heat the build plate with the barrettes on the build surface to heat them up. Then, when they are warm, bend them for the first time.</p> <p>If the friction clasp is a little tight, scrape a bit of the material away.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>Print in a batch or ensure a minimum print time per layer, or else the stanchion for the friction clasp might become deformed as it prints.</p> <p>Print with 4 perimeters? Meh. it doesn't really matter.</p>
