Base-Arm Connector for a Globe

Base-Arm Connector for a Globe

thingiverse

We got some globes for our history classrooms at my school and the student in charge of distributing them discovered a critical flaw on two of the globes - specifically, a crucial component had snapped off (the piece that links the base to the arm). He came to me with an urgent request: could we 3D print a replacement? I sprang into action, modeling this using precise specs pulled from the original part. The second picture showcases the original part in all its glory. Next up, I'll post a photo of the printed replacement after it's complete and share my report on how successful our maiden attempt was. Based on my research, I'm fairly certain this is the model of globe that this part fits perfectly. Shout out to Ivan N for sparking this project with his ingenuity!
