This is a base to help stabilize a small tank/torch combination, when you need to use it hands-free. This is for a tank 74.25mm in diameter.

Although these small tanks will stand upright on their own, they tend to be top-heavy and prone to tipping. While this base does not eliminate that problem, it does reduce the chance of tipping significantly.

Assembly and Use

The prints consists of a Base and 3 “Springs” to hold the tank in place (and allow for some minor variation in tank diameter). The Springs are simple inserted into the holes in the Base (see photos).

With the springs in place, simply insert the tank so as to expand the Springs; inserting the tank at a slight angle is helpful.

Print Instructions

Print in PETG using the 3mf or gcode files provided. In general :

Print the base with :

5% rectilinear infill

concentric top and bottom infill

I used a modifier to remove infill from the upper section of the base and to increase the number of perimeters

Print 3 of the “springs” with :

0% infill

I printed the springs in a different color from the base just for fun, but of course this is not necessary

CAD

The OnShape 3D CAD files for this are here:

https://cad.onshape.com/documents/7d66050b1a74fc353692a119/w/0cad91dc58968a3c06befeb4/e/3f905e5d4d0d80aaa79c4f36
