I made this to replace a rusted out battery box for a vintage toy "Crapshooter" which is very similar to a series of bartender toys. I would not be surprised to see this fit many vintage toys that have a destroyed battery box from leaking D cells though sometimes they can be quite specific as to dimensions and mounting points. Dimensions: 71mm X 72.7mm X 34mm. Note that the batteries do not sit flush in this holder, the toys commonly had a crowned battery case door that held the rest of the battery. I used brass strips .032 X 1/4" but other sizes could be used with a little alteration. You may have to hold some metal in pliers, heat it and melt the holes to a little more manageable size. Feel free to use whatever strips you can find, make or salvage. The ones I used were quite expensive online but only a few dollars from a hobby store that specialized in RC planes, models and dioramas. I pre bent the strips where they would make contact with the batteries before sliding them into the battery box. when I soldered on the wires, I clamped the strips in a vice grip to dissipate the heat. After soldering I folded the protruding strips flat to the box. Personally, I did use supports by you may not need to.
