Battery cover replacement for ROTOR POWER

Battery cover replacement for ROTOR POWER

This is just a recplacement of the battery cover for the Powermeter from ROTOR, the type is called POWER, which is the 1st generation of their Powermeters, presented in 2012. I lost the battery cover and noticed that a replacement cap was not on offer anywhere on the internet. Which is a real misfortune, because you hardly have any alternative. So I designed this part. I printed it for €5,95 at meltwerk.com by SLS printing in spring 2020. It even has the inner thread designed. My feeling was that it was slightly too large, but this may also be up to daily tolerance variations of the printers. I fitted some PTFE tape (as you use to seal water piping threads in your house) to adjust the friction, and it will also seal reasonably against water (because the original seal and spring, which is inside the original cover) got lost as well. Some 3mm foam bonded to the inside of the cover does the job for the spring just as well.
