A case and battery holder that can be attached to a lanyard for the BBC Micro Bit. Comes in two parts, a base and a lid, the idea being that pupils can take my basic lid design and come up with their own. Overview & Background Our Year 7 pupils are just about to get their hands on with these funky bits of kit, but they won't last long without some equally funky protection, or, some amazing way to show them off. This project gives students a basic case and allows them to design their own - much better - version, as well as introducing them to some cool coding! Audiences Year 7 (age 11) pupils and above. Subjects Computer Science and Design Technology Skills Learned Coding and design skills as outlined in the Computer Science and Design Technology KS3 Programme of Study for each subject. Lesson/Activity Lesson 1 and 2: Coding with the MIcroBit Lesson 3 and 4: Designing using TinkerCad Lesson 5 and 6: Design and coding project to make a new case with a purposeful program coded onto the Micro Bit. Duration 6 x 1 Hr lessons Preparation: Students should have had some experience of using a text or block based programming environment.
