Welcome to my fourth entry for the Multi-Function Reader challenge by Blackboard Transact: https://grabcad.com/challenges/the-multi-function-reader-design-challenge ! CONCEPT ! ------------------- PRIMARY CONFIG includes: - Base/stand that can be mounted horizontally (counter) or vertically (wall) using same mounting holes. - RJ45 and two USB ports inside base on backside. - Display with 7" screen; attached to base by stiff hinge (to allow tilting, but able to remain in position despite small forces such as fingers using touch screen. Alternatively could have incremental tilt positions). - Speaker left of screen on display. - Camera centered atop back of display. - Detachable payment module that can dock on either left or right side of display. Houses both Mag Stripe and RFID/NFC readers. ADD-ON OPTIONS/EXTENSIONS: - Second camera is centered above display screen. - Motion sensor is centered below screen. - Micro SD card slot in base next to other ports. - Receipt printer as a detachable module. - Braille keypad is added to the payment module above RFID. - Other modules possible. While only two attach to core, others can be standalone. All modules generally use same body design. I figure the modules will most be used in a detached position so I wanted the core unit to still look nice & 'complete' even with modules as standalones. Modules could also have a little 'kickstand' that flips out to allow them to be propped at angle - this stand would fold into the back/underside flush when not used.
