Beam Compass

Beam Compass

thingiverse

A simple beam compass I designed using TurboCAD just to become more proficient in my design skills and to learn TurboCAD. I tied to use easily accessible parts the only ones that you might not have on had are the 3mm insets, but they are inexpensive and can be ordered on eBay or elsewhere. You will need; 1 10d nail 3 3mm insets 2 M3*6 socket cap screws 1 M3*20 Socket cap screw For the needle point I used a hack saw to cut the nail to length then I put the tip in a cordless drill and filed off the burrs. The nail is then pressed into the bottom of the rear slide plate. I used a soldering iron to heat and press the insets into the back slide plate and the end of the beam. The only part that needs support is the pencil clip.
