All credit for this wonderful design goes to pixel2. In pixel2's original design, a bearing was needed in order to render the mini wheel functional. In this model, instead of a bearing that allows the steering wheel to freely rotate, a half-screw half-axis of rotation mechanism is used to hold the steering wheel in place, as well as allow it to freely rotate. The gap between the screw mechanism and the wheel itself is just about perfect so that the wheel spins in place. All parts, other than the frame and the steering wheel of this model, are the same as the original models. Printing should be done without supports except for the frame. The frame of this model is intended for the modern Xbox one controllers. Build instructions and controller distinctions can be found on pixel2's product page on Thingiverse.
