Beatrix Potter Lithophane Mini Bookmark. I created a lithophane from a portrait of Beatrix Potter and used her real signature to create this mini bookmark. Lithophanes were first produced in the 1820's using thin porcelain. The image can be seen when light is transmitted through the print using backlighting. (e.g. held up to a lamp or window)
