The RepRap Mendel's bed-spring_4off features a short teardrop area that can cause failure if filament adhesion isn't flawless. I extended this region to enhance print reliability. Notably, even a well-calibrated RepMan with 0.25mm layer height experienced issues, so it's likely more widespread among regular RepRaps and Makerbots.
