Beer Barrel Opener (King Keg)

Made this beer barrel opener tool for my old man as his arthritis makes it difficult to open the barrel unassisted. There are two version, one has a smoother handle as the stepped version can be a little harsh to grip. If i had a bigger build plate then i would extend and widen the handles. It was based on KingKeg barrel lids, it fits both barrels we have. Print Settings Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .30 Infill: 75 Notes: I wanted this part to be as strong as possible, this is why the resolution and infill is so high. I also printed with a 3 shell thickness. How I Designed This I traced the lid of a king keg barrel and used a caliper to get the various dimensions of the fins and outer diameter of the lid. Then mocked up the shape in 3DS Max using the "measure and select" extension (http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/miauu-measure-and-select). I wanted the part to be printed in one piece as i felt it wouldn't be strong enough if i had to assemble it. This part utilizes the whole build plate of my flash-forge creator. I tried rotating the tool so the handles would extend to corner but then the slimmed section would be directly attached the handle which could weaken the tool. The handles could be extended if you have a bigger print area.
