This is my take on a great gadget. The basic device is great all I have done is add a couple of bearings to each end to reduce friction on the belt the idea being to make the gauge more sensitive and better repeatable readings. Note: You will need a few more things in addition to the spring (have a look at calviniba's original post) I used these small flanged bearings 3mm inner 10mm outer, I used M3 x 20mm bolts and I used M3 washers between everything (top, in between the bearings and the base) the idea is to make sure the bearings are free. The base and indicator I have modified the stick part is un touched.
