Bernina Record 830 Type 290 Foot Control 3D Printed Replacement Cover

This is a replacement cover for the type 290 foot control for the later model Bernina Record 830 sewing machines. The original cover had broken clamshell clamps and a broken tab that drags the carbon tracer pin carrier up and down. Also the carbon tracer pins were broken and needed replacing. This cover includes a tab for the tracer pin carrier that can be removed and replaced if it becomes damaged. The tab requires a small screw to attach it to the cover. I mistakenly used M4 heat set inserts and screws which appear in the video and photos instead of the correct M3 inserts. I suggest you use M3 to minimize the post-printing modifications to the cover. The inserts can be installed simply by pressing the top with a hot soldering iron and pushing down until the insert is flush with the top of the hole. While the insert is hot, gently use a screw so the insert can be easily aligned so the screw is vertical. I removed the retaining clip for the circuit board which contains the pin contacts and microswitch. This allows the circuit board to be partially removed so the carrier can be inserted past the microswitch arm.
