General

I remixed the original as I didn't want to have to use any hardware and I also wanted to increase the inner diameter for some extra clearance on my bucket. The original had a inner diameter of 4mm but that made for a tight enough fit on my bucket with a 3.75mm wire handle that it squeaked. So in addition to removing the screw slots/threads I also increased the inner diameter to 4.5mm which gave me a really nice feel and swivel on the final print for my Home Depot bucket.

Dimensions

This should fit your bucket if your wire handle is straight (not curved/arced) and is 4mm or smaller in diameter. The guide holes are 1.78mm in diameter and 3.5mm deep on each handle side so some small scrap filament will fit in them to act as guides during glue up.

Print Info

The included 3MF file includes my settings for 0.25mm draft profile on my Prusa Mini with Prusament PETG and variable layer height turned on so that the last layers on the handle are smoother. It works fine even if you print it on 0.25mm draft settings the whole time though you just end up with a handle with a bit more texture to it.

Assembly

Print two copies of the handle file and then insert some scrap 1.75mm filament pieces into the holes on one side. Trim them until only 1-2mm is sticking out and then place some super glue on the flat surfaces and then clamp the other half over the handle onto the first half and use the filament stubs as guides to keep the two halves aligned as you squeeze them tightly while the glue sets up for a few seconds. If you have some clamps to get them really tight that works even better.

TIP: if you find the guide holes too tight for filament you can try 18g wire or use a small drill bit to give them a tiny amount of additional clearance. Don‘t go too crazy though as a loose fit here will allow your halves to slide out of alignment during glue up.
