Transformed a sample 2D-drawing of a bevel gearbox into a 3D CAD model using SolidWorks. The gear modules were customised for every student to avoid work of a draftsman, enabling us to work as engineers. The tasks involved: 1) calculating dimensions, 2) selecting DIN standard parts. for e.g.bearings/fillet/chamfers/threads/etc. 3) considering manufacturing possibilities, 4) considering easy assembly of all parts, 5) final standard FAP 2D drawings, 6) Parts List, 7) 3D CAD model on SolidWorks. references: www.skf.com
