Beyblade Arena (4x)

Beyblade Arena (4x)

This is a larger beyblade arena that is constructed by printing 4 quandrants of the arena and gluing them together post-printing. If you are lucky enough to have a 3D printer that is at least 400mm large, you can print it all as one thing. #Notes on Sanding After printing a quandrant, I used 120 grit sand paper to take off some of the "stepping" that occurred because of the precision of the printing. Use a light, swirling pattern when sanding. Do not sand against the grain or with it. After it starts getting smooth, switch to using 300+ grit sand paper for a smooth finish. Thoroughly clean off all the plastic "dust" that results. #Notes on Attaching The Pieces Use a smooth, flat surface (good workbench or table) and clamp a metal straight edge down on the end. This will allow you to push 2 of the quandrants against the straight edge to keep them perfect aligned when holding while the glue dries. Glue 2 quadrants together, then the other 2 quadrants together, then glue both sets of quadrants together for the final product. When holding the pieces together and waiting for the glue to dry, focus on the bowl surface being gap-less, smooth and consistent across where the pieces merge. Having a smooth surface for the beyblades to glide over is more important than having the bottoms of the pieces aligned perfectly. Use Loctite Super Glue Ultra Gel for best hold. I did this with PLA pieces with very satisfying results. However, if you are already a master at other forms of adhesion, by all means do it your way.
