When replacing the stock audio cable with a 3.5 mm audio jack, this allows for a better fit into the casing, by tilting and retracting the socket away from the speaker system. To make the socket fit, the four notches on the plastic need to be cut off -- and also part of the length of the two clips. The socket was then glued in from the inside using epoxy, but hot glue should work, too. I only did this for the DT990 Edition model, so I have no idea if this fits any other models. I've added the FreeCAD source file, if someone want's to modify it. The socket seems to be available using different names, but it's always the same. I bought it as "TRU Components 718587". Note, that there is also one with a threaded nut, this one is without that! Some more pictures: https://imgur.com/a/FAXXX6j
