Inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:33494 Final uploads: 27 January 2014 (If you downloaded before that date you don't have the latest and greatest revisions.) What they are... Two snap-op fan ducts for the BFB 3D Touch and BFB 3000 printer. (Not tested for clearances on the BFB 3000.) One duct fits a single fan and the other fits two side-by-side fans. On a 3-head 3D Touch there are three 60mm fans, two on the front of the carriage and one on the back. I'm not sure if there is always a single fan per extruder head on models with one or two heads, but the single and dual ducts have it covered regardless. My goal was to make these fan ducts completely snap-on and printable without support. After some trial and error I came up with this fairly simple design that snaps nicely and firmly into place. The walls are just 1mm thick all around, so they don't use up much material. I tried adding snap-on deflectors at the outlets of the ducts that would tend to force the airflow down toward the tip of the hot ends, but after trying it with and without them, I decided not to use them. Files included: .stl and .sldprt. One of the .stl files contains both ducts for printing both at a time. Instructions Print 'em. Printed on blue tape. Layers: 0.25mm Fill: 20% Extra Skins: 2 First Layer Temp: 220C Remaining Layers Temp: 195C Snap 'em on. Two small bumps, one each on the inside top of the two front corners ('front' means the side opposite the duct outlet), act as detents, mating with the screw holes on the corners of the fans. A small tab on the duct rides against the bottom of the fan body to hold the bumps in the fan hole 'detents'. I have no idea yet what effect these ducts will have on printing, but the theoretical increase in part cooling should reduce warping.
