Family of sleeves and mounts (car cupholder, bicycle, etc.) for convenient access to your phone on the go remixes/updates: Modular mount system Sleeve for iPhone 11 Pro with case by dpc - Thingiverse iPhone 8 Plus Mount sleeve and cap by dpc - Thingiverse iPhone 6 plus bicycle mount w/ quick release by simonhead - Thingiverse I wanted a case + mount for my iPhone 6 Plus on my bicycle. A lot of the models on Thingiverse are for different cases or caseless iPhone dimensions. I made this model to work with the case I use: "Incipio NGP Case for iPhone 6+". UPDATE 08-Apr-2016: Added a cupholder-based mount system, cupholder2_* that is designed and tested to work in a 2005 Mustang. Has a different orientation and configuration of the arm. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.20 Infill: 20% Notes: I printed the smaller Components in ABS at the listed settings, but PLA should be fine too.. The sleeve .STL has a truncated top so that it fits inside the print volume of a LulzBot Mini, or a Makerbot Replicator 2X. It prints at 30% infill at 0.20mm layer height (5.5 hours) in its vertical orientation in PLA. Supports Supports are needed on the Sleeve (for the cutouts for volume, power buttons, etc.) cupholder_lid_bracket.stl prints well in that orientation and needs supports. Post-Printing Parts for bike mount Print the case sleeve, sleeve cap, bicycle mount, and (optionally) mount catch. The bicycle mount needs a metal hose clamp or similar to attach to bicycle steering handlebar column. An M2.5 screw (10mm) can be used to attach the mount catch to the mount. I just self-tapped a machine screw through them both. Cupholder Print the same case sleeve if you want another one to have. There are four cupholder parts to print: cup, lid, lid_bracket, and coupler. Glue the lid to the cup. Plastic model cement and superglue work. Wait until it sets. Screw the lid bracket into the lid Insert the coupler into the lid bracket, and set orientation appropriately Fill the cup with coins, enough to weigh it down into the cupholder. How I Designed This Modeled case dimensions in OpenSCAD As part of solving this problem, I first used OpenSCAD to model the dimensions on the case. Iterated in OpenSCAD and print experiments Then I iterated using experimental prints until I got to sizing and access holes I was satisifed with. Custom Section Other pieces Bike mount 2.5M x 10 machine screw for OPTIONAL catch metal hose clamp to attach bike mount to handlebar column Cupholder mount superglue, model cement glue, or other adhesive to glue lid to cup 4(x) 3 0.5M x 8 machine screws to attach the lid bracket to the lid. enough coins to fill the cup. Used to add weight to the the cupholder cup so that it stays setting.
