A 3D model showing the position of the major stars in the Big Dipper asterism (constellation). By looking through the ring, the viewer sees the stars as they are from earth. This helps demonstrate that constellations aren't flat, but rather coincidental 3D arrays of stars. Note that the Big Dipper is one of the best constellations (asterisms) to do this for, with the furthest star being only 2.5 times further than the closest. in some constellations, the ratio is in the hundreds.
