To be honest, this kinda sucks, but it does hold up bikes, up to 3-3.5in wide tires, 26in thru 29er. If you build something like this, each pair of uprights needs to be braced better, at least connected at the top/back (away from the tire). Else the uprights are kinda floppy. Just don't try to do any sweet jumps off this rack and it should be fine.
