Bird Cage

Bird Cage

This is a simple bird cage using standard 1.75mm filament (pre-extruded) as bars. I originally began the design to accommodate my file Perched Dragon. NOTE: The top and bottom look similar but are not. Top has a hole for suspending the cage and a hook for suspending the ring perch. The bottom has a hole for the T perch. BE SURE THE DOOR FRAME HINGES POINT UP TOWARDS THE TOP. Otherwise the door will fall off when you open it. The door has a simple snap fit to close. Accessories include 2 perch types and a dish. I have included a three part version of the center ring for printing on small platform printers. Because the print uses 1.75mm filament as the bars do not scale the parts or the bars will no longer fit. Print Settings Printer Brand: Up! Printer: Up Mini Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm Infill: as dense as possible Notes: This file was created using decimal inch measurements Supports and infill will vary depending on the parts you are printing. It is up to you to adjust your printer settings to print the top and bottom without supports for the holes or you will have to drill them out afterwards. Post-Printing The size and shape of the cage will be determined by the length of bar that you choose. BE SURE THE DOOR FRAME HINGES POINT UP TOWARDS THE TOP. Otherwise the door will fall off when you open it. I dry fit all the large bars first. Then I pulled one end at a time to super glue and replace. Lay the cage on the door opening and adjust the center ring to center, then glue. Cut and glue the door bars last. If using the ring perch, I recommend a bit of wire to suspend the perch, this keeps the ring from spinning within the cage.
