Birds obviously love the rain gauge of my Weatherstation Ventus W830 to sit on the rim and leave their excrements in the funnel. Besides influencing the correct measurement I was afraid that the aggressive excrements sooner or later will destroy the mechanics. My solution is an adapter attaching spikes to the rim teaching birds that this is not a public toilet. In addition to the printed ring you will need some spikes.
