Bird Feeder/Bath

This is a bird bath for my budgies. I could not find one that I liked, so my wife asked me to just build one. Using a ziplock container, I created in FreeCAD, a support for it to act as a bird bath. Total print time: 14-16 hrs Number of printed parts: 6-8 Labor time: 5-10 mins Instructions To build this you will need these items: 2-4 - 1 1/4" x 3/8" carriage bolt 1 - Ziplock sandwich or 3 compartment container or similar 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" container 1 - 6-8" 1/2" wooden dowel(perch) 4 - 1/4" wood screws(optional) Printed parts 2-4 - bird_knob 2 - bird_brace 2 - bird_support Tools knife hotglue screw driver file Step 1: Print out 2 of each stl (you can print out more knobs if you want for larger birds) Step 2: Clean up parts that might cut your birds. Might need to do some filing in some places. Step 3: Assemble support parts. The braces have a hole on each end for a 1/4" screw. My parts snapped together quite nicely, so I only used some hotglue in those areas. Step 4: Slide a 1 1/4" x 3/8" carriage bolt into each bird_knob. The bolt should fit snug with no need for glue, but you can add some if you need it. Step 5: Slide ziplock or similar container into top of supports. This fit is snug and the container probably pop out of the support when left alone. I added hotglue to hold the container in place. Step 6: Hotglue 6-8" x 1/2" wooden dowel to the front of the supports. If you have a larger bird, perhaps a counter sunk screw in each end would be good here. Step 7: Wash the whole setup. No bird wants a dirty bath tub. Step 8: Install in the bird's cage. Use the bird_knobs with carriage bolts on the outside of the cage. Also might be wise to use one of the wires going across the cage as additional support. Step 9: Fill with water or feed. Step 10: Sit back and admire your handywork.
