Bird house the Greek Temple

Bird house the Greek Temple

cults3d

This is a bird house made in the shape of a Greek temple. The dimensions on the inside are for sparrows or Tomtits. Inside the chamber is 113.7mm x 114mm big. The sealing is approximately 255mm high. The diameter of the hole is 32mm. The hole to the nest is hidden in plane site. The pillars hide it a bit. This way it is harder for bigger birds to get to the nest. This Temple can also be used as a bird feeder. Just put in some food. This birdhouse also has a mounting eye on the top. This mounting eye makes it easy to hang it up on a tree. It can be adjusted to find the center of gravity to hang the birdhouse in the death center. Now, the temple always hangs straight. This part is printed out of PET-G because that holds it's strength better in sunlight. The mounting eye on top is fastened with a M6x45mm bolt and nut. To clean the inside, you can remove a lid at the bottom. This lid is hold by 8 little wood screws. The roof is made to keep the water out from the inner chamber. It even has a working gutter... to see it action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuAjTspLPiE & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqodTziUiuY This model is tested on FDM printers with a 0.4mm Nozzle and 0.2mm resolution (xyz = 200x200x230mm) with PLA. The mounting eye on top is printed in PET-G. After assembly I panted it in blue and white. When finished, the dimensions of this bird house are 342mmx427mm and 338mm high. In the photo section (at the end) are 8 images to show you how the parts come together. If you still have questions feel free to ask :-) OPTION: For the part “pilaar kapiteel” (part on top of the pillar) are 2 ways of printing it. The way I did it: in 4 parts that are later glued together. Or just in one piece. In the images the first way is shown. If you want to print this part in one peace, please use “pilaar kapiteel (2e option)24x.stl” instead of “pilaar kapiteel 96x”. It took me around 330 hours to print and that took around 3.4KG of filament. For those who are interested, the numbers in the photo section :-) if you have any questions, feel free to ask :-)
