Bird Playing Field - Floor box

myminifactory

A base system for bird playing field I've designed. There are important things you should know before printing these for your bird. Please read carefully. Bird Safety! There is no guaruntee that you will print these models with bird-safe filament nor machine. These models are considered "Supervised toys". You have to stay with your bird while they play with these models. Do not let your bird chew on them. A bit of curious nibble is ok, but a passionate chew to pieces is not. Do not coat it with anything especially spray paint. If you have to post-process it, only do sanding and/or annealing. Wash thoroughly after. About the models This is part of a collection of prints. Download and print only the item you need. Check the entire colelction at https://www.myminifactory.com/users/jarnMod/collection/jarnmod-s-bird-toys-collection This model contains the hex box, the lid (aka floor plate), and a dovetail joint to join multiple hex tiles. The green thing on the lid is called "Null Screw" in the collection. Assembly Direction Floor box is the fundamental part of the set. It is the floor under the floor. It has to be sturdy and not move around. It is also link to other grid in your field. This is how you can plan your field out. Calculate how many tiles you want your field to be.To do so, size your bird up. Each tile is 8cm (3.15") wide. So, measure up the place you will put this field on and divide away. For example, my desk has a space of 60cm x 30cm where I want to put this toy on. I print 13 tiles and lay it 3 tiles width (24cm) and 4 tiles length with 1 more to cap of the far end (40cm). Print as many Floor Boxes as you need to fill the grid Print as many dovetails as you need to connect them all Connect all of them together Measure the weight. If the weight is less than your bird's weight x 6, do the 6th optinal step (optional) Weight the box down with anything. I've tested with water, wood piece, concrete, sand, gravel. Anything is ok. Make the weight to at least 6 times the weight of your bird. This weight will prevent the set to slide when your bird decide to slam-land on it as many do. Additional note I originally submit the lid separately to make sure the printing tips and notes are explaining only 1 object and not cause any confusion, but the check seems to be stuck somehow. So, I put the lid in this model as well. With that in mind, please understand that Time/Material/etc will not match the entire set because that's for the hex only
