Formerly I used as bath for my birds a cap of a butter dish. But this part crumbled more and more over the time. Because my birds are very sensitive for changes in their environment I tried to make the new bath similar to the old one. But I made some improvements. So the bottom is flat now, the volume a little bit higher and the upper edges are wider and rounded for better sitting.

Size: 145 x 104 x 42 mm³

Printed with PLA crystal clear, extruder 210°C, bed 60°C

It is not easy to get the bottom waterproof. I got it with the following tricks:

I used two different print parameter settings. The first three bottom layers were printed with rectilinear external fill, the next three layers with circular external fill. For the first and forth layer the nozzle fan was disabled for better connection. Additionally I increased the extrusion factor from 0.9 to 1.1. So the lines and layers are better fused and become waterproof.

Print Settings

Printer:

FIashForge Dreamer

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.20 mm

Infill:

50 %

How I Designed This

Designed with FreeCAD

Category: Pets
