Birdhouse With Curved Back

Birdhouse With Curved Back

thingiverse

Here is a birdhouse. I has a curved back for mounting to a tree trunk, pole, etc. There are two mounting holes for super easy mounting. The bottom hole has a key slot so you can first drive a nail or screw into the mounting surface before hanging the birdhouse. The second mounting hole is a standard recessed hole that can be accessed through the "doorway" in the front of the birdhouse with a long screwdriver. In case you don't want to make holes in your tree, there are also four holes along the back of the side walls for mounting with wire. There are also drainage holes on the floor which could also be utilized for mounting on a horizontal surface, such as a fencepost. The perch is not included but could be made from anything. I chose to use steel screws with a piece of rubber hose over the top. This will allow the bird to have a nice cushiony grip. I suggest printing in PETG or ABS/ASA and attach the roof with silicone. Scale it for your needs. I made a few at 80% to 100%. Thin walls and gyroid pattern give it a really unique texture. 30% infill should be fine. Make as many as you like!
