Landstown High School Governor’s STEM and Technology AcademyAdvising Instructor- Jennifer RenneMy design was created from inspiration I got from the natural element bismuth. It has very unique and subtle details and geometric forms all through it as it naturally forms through heating. An ingot found in nature is full of impurities. However, once it is heated above its low boiling point, those impurities can be scrapped out and the element can be left to form the intricate designs found inside. This inspired my project by the beautiful metallic blending colors and the ascending “step” formations to come up with the offsetting rims inside and out of the pendant that I made. The main inspiration came from the beauty of nature and how even in the smallest and simplest forms, some that are even unknown by a general population. I hope to inspire others with my design to encourage people to slow down and appreciate the little things. You never know what sort of wonders you could find when you take the time to notice how delicate nature can be.
