BL Touch replacement pin

prusaprinters

Replacement pin for BL touch and derivatives. Use hard plastic for printing. Even PLA can work since it can withstand higher temperatures over time (annealing). Use white/transparent color to avoid IR absorption. Be sure that the printed pin moves freely in the case. It should move by it's own weight (gravity). Otherwise, use files to remove any protrusion. You can pront the pin laying (stronger) or standing (more precise).

Installation

print the pin

remove bolt on the top of the coil on the BL touch

use long thin rod (hex/allen key) and push the broken pin from the tip of the BL touch

remove the original magnet

clean the hole in the printed part with a drill

place the magnet and secure with glue

test the pin if it goes into the tip of BL touch (file it if not)

push the new pin into the coil from the top of BL touch (tip of pin first, magnet last)
