Converted a googled svg to a stl and then imported to tinkercad to size it and add the solid back to it. Printed at 0.2 resolution with a 0.3 nozzle on a prusa i3 clone. Hand bent the 4mm steel rod for the fastening hardware. Used a hobby knife to cut the slots in the back of the 3d print to recess the hardware in. Made a two part mold using oil sand. Cast the buckle out of tin using a stainless steel measuring cup, vise grips and a propane torch. Cut the sprue, sprayed it black and then used sand paper to take the paint off the top of pattern and tidy up where the spue came in. This is the fourth iteration 3d print, first made it too small to fit the hardware for a 1.5" wide belt, 2nd with the pattern too deep to mold properly using oil sand, then too thin to cast well, needed two tries to get the mold right with this last print.
