WORK IN PROGRESS! I spent several hours designing this frame. Its currently up to Version 7 and I think it's far enough along that I think people could help by giving some design feedback. My current issues are: Balance - This version of the frame has a similar battery position to the stock frame so I hope that helps with the balance and backward drifting issue from version 6. Arm position stoppers - I need a cleaver/simple/lightweight way to make the arms open to a specific angle. I don't want them to lock but rather a way to stop the arms at the perfect angle. Currently the fit the arms have with the frame is tight and the arms are actually very well held in place but setting that perfect angle is tough without stoppers. Motor wire holders - I need a way to keep the wires neat and free from pinching during folding. For assembly you will need to use some force but not to much because you will break the frame. I've put together several of these so far and only had one arm holder break. Everything is a friction fit and its actually quite tight and works well. Use glue at your own risk but I don't. If you want a good tight fit for everything you will need to do a little sanding. It doesn't take much but it will most likely need it. Version 8 will be in the works once I get a few test flights in and get some feedback from people on here. I print on a glass bed using my Select Mini and it works great. All I use is a skirt and the pieces should stick if you do it correctly. I think using a raft would work too. I print using Hatchbox PLA. Once this is done I want to design a Mavic Pro inspired Nano QX folding frame.
