<p><i>(Note: The 3D-printed plastic is NOT food safe, but this part never touches food if you do it right – the gasket seals between the glass and metal pieces, this part just holds it all together and suspends it over the motor's spindle.)</i></p><p>We really like our beehive blender, but the bottom plastic piece started cracking after many uses and washings. So… 3D design-and-print to the rescue! (Model made in OpenSCAD using the threads library.)&nbsp;</p><p>This replacement bottom works great, and we get to keep using our beloved blender (as long as we don't break the glass – I can't print that part… yet).</p><p>Seems a shame to toss the entire appliance for a broken piece of plastic, AND I get to justify my 3D printing hobby to my wife!&nbsp;</p><p>The threads are VERY solid… we found out that you can actually screw it down TOO tight and squish the rubber gasket out of place. But if you just tighten firmly, it seals the deal.</p>
