Blink XT + XT2 Mounting Bracket System

Blink XT + XT2 Mounting Bracket System

thingiverse

The mounting piece that comes with the Blink XT camera system leaves a lot to be desired. It is flimsy, limited in adjustability (due to the single hinge axis and being too close to the wall), and prone to detaching from the camera. In addition, changing the batteries will usually throw off the aiming of the camera. This design aims to fix all of those issues. This design fits both the XT and XT2 cameras. Two mounting options are offered - one for flat on the walls, and another for corners. The height is 26mm to allow for use of 1" mounting tape without trimming. You can also screw the flat mount to the wall. The Body Bracket (1) connects to the Ball Arm (2) using two #6 pan head wood screws of around 1" in length. The Ball Arm (2) does not fit straight into the Wall or Corner Mounts. You have to turn it sideways to get it in, then twist 90° (so that the flat side is facing down) to secure the ball in the mount. The flat Ball Sockets (3) connect to the Siding Mount (4) using a #6 pan head machine screw and a matching nut (captured on the back of the Siding Mount). This allows you to hang the cameras on vinyl siding. The Ball Socket 45 allows you to turn the camera even further against the wall. To mount the camera to vinyl siding, you will need a siding removal tool (I use one made by Malco) to separate the siding. Then hook the siding mount up under the siding as shown in the picture, and then you can snap the siding back in place. Thanks to DarkModulus for fixing one of the STL models. Update: 2019-09-04 - Updated all model files. The naming should help you sort out what you need to print. You'll need at least one of 1, 2, and 3. You'll only need 4 if you're hanging it off your vinyl siding. The updated bracket (1) now fits the XT and XT2. There is a new 45° ball socket for mounting at more extreme angles.
