Blinking Owl Gift Card

<p>This is a gift card with a gear train to make the owl’s eyes blink and make an object move in the sky. By default, a cloud reveals the moon, but you can create your own creative background.</p><p>It is set up, that you can 3D print the whole gift card or paint your own background on some thick paper /thin cardboard (max 0.5mm thick), as you can see on the side-by-side comparison.</p><p>The gift card allows for a personal message in the free space under the tree and a conveniently located pocket hole makes it possible to hang the card on the wall.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h4>Printing Tips:</h4><p>I uploaded prusa slicer project files for the 3D printed background and lever for the eyes with colour changes at the right layer height.</p><p>If you decide to print the background, make sure to use opaque filament. Since it incorporates 4 colour changes within 0.5mm the individual colours are only 0.1mm thick.</p><p>Print the cloud and sled in the same colour since the sled could shine through the cloud.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h4>Assembly Tips:</h4><p>Remove the seams of the bearing surfaces of the gears and use some lubrication for a satisfying movement.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Have fun creating a unique and beautiful gift card!</p>
