To celebrate the finale of an incredible third season of Seth MacFarlane’s epic space opera, “The Orville”, I am pleased to release the final version of my Orville Tribute! Say Hi to Blocky Little Orville Tribute, or BLOT for short. It looks like my design flew into the 2D realm again and wound up in a building block video game, right? Well, there’s more to it than that. It’s tweaked more so the nacelle loops are actually visually pleasing and much sturdier, there’s little details added like a shuttle bay, I included a supported version which I have test printed successfully, and more. The neat thing about this model is how the blocky details wind up making a very satisfyingly detailed print. One thing I found about other Orville models out there was that even if they had good details, when printed nothing really showed up. The BLOT cheats and the end result is that your eye and brain see quite a lot of neat tidbits out of my horribly inaccurate attempt to model a tribute of this ship. I guess we’ll once again say it’s another ship of the line… You could call this one “The Brian” or something else based on one of MacFarlane’s creative works. Maybe “The Peter”... lol. I apologize for having to charge for this one. I like to share my stuff, but I also need support to keep learning and working, and I have found nobody really seems to tip. I hope five bux isn’t too much to ask. I really have put a lot of time into this one over the years. It’s the attempt I started learning with, then I found that it’s a really tricky shape to model, at least for me, and I’ve just kept fiddling with it until finally we have this wonderful BLOT. It’s still fun to taunt your cat with it. I would also like to thank Seth MacFarlane and the cast and crew of The Orville for creating such a wonderful bright spot in these weird times. :) Maybe I’ll start trying to figure out a heavy cruiser next. Those things are cool even though they blow up left and right. :D Enjoy! -SHOVAR (KMGuppie) *I'm not sure why the 3D view isn't working, I included an .stl and a ZIP file with all the additional slices, formats, supported models, etc. I guess if you have two file types (In this case; .stl and .zip) the preview fails. I'm a little sad you can't preview it in 3D, but I don't want to ditch all the extras in the ZIP. I tried to give as much bang for the buck as possible, since I am not accustomed to charging for my work. I hope you like it!
