BLTouch Cover w/bottom light block
thingiverse
I found an excellent BLTouch cover made by Slopsjon: the best one I've seen yet. It friction fits perfectly with a genuine Antclabs 1.3, has tiny grooves inside to prevent slipping, and a small hole in front that lets just enough light out so you can see the status of the device without it being annoying or blinding your webcam - overall, just a well-thought-out design for such a simple concept. However, I thought something was missing: the bottom is completely open. This allows the red light that shines as part of the BLTouch's normal operation to reflect off the build surface, which can be particularly annoying if you're using glass and webcam/time-lapses. So I broke out my calipers to make sure the measurements for the hole aligned then I remixed it in Tinkercad. I made the bottom part 1.5mm thick, the probe is perfectly aligned and able to extend and retract with no issue. Note: I only tested this with my 1.3, I am not sure if clones will work or if the fit is exactly the same so be sure to test it by extracting your probe manually and doing a test fit.
