Blue Robotics 4" Dome - Strap Attachment

Blue Robotics 4" Dome - Strap Attachment

On my ROV build I needed to add straps to hold the tubes together and to hold them to the frame of the ROV. The original plates that were attached to the flanges were custom laser cut, but the team wanted to switch to the BlueRobotics domes, which didn't have straps holes. This is a faceplate that can be attached to the 4" dome to add strap holes. The original FreeCAD file and an STL are available for download. Also, please check out the team's Facebook page for photos and videos of the entire ROV. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Makerfarm Prusa i3v Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: I printed mine with a bit of an overfill (extrusion multiplier set to 105%), and then scrapped off all of the extra beads and plastic with a knife to as smooth of a finish as possible. Then I sanded it with 150->220->440->800->1000 grit sand paper, and finally applied a clear coat to it. The final result is a part that is nearly indistinguishable from injection molded plastic.
