Bluntnose Minnow Swimbait Soft Plastic Fishing Molds

This is a Bluntnose Minnow Swimbait. The finished bait w/head measures just about 2.5 inches. This is similar to my other 2" Micro Swimbait but is thinner and has a better action at slower retrieves. This has been my favorite lure this year and I have caught some great stuff on it. See https://www.theneverendingprojectslist.com/fishingprojects/bluntnose-minnow/ for more info and some fishing results. Included are molds to make the soft plastic bodies as well as a master mold box for making silicone molds for pouring the 1/16 oz lead custom jig heads I use for fishing these. (These can also be fished with my 1/8 oz Swimbait Heads from the 2" Swimbait.) There are 2 different version of molds for the bodies. There is a quick single cavity test mold (molded with the head) and a 10 cavity swimbait body mold. The Single Mold requires a 3.25" x 1.50" print area for each half. The 10 Cavity Mold requires a 5.50" x 5.50" print area for each half. These are 3D printed plastic mold so you have to be careful with your temps and injection pressure. I printed this mold in PLA+ and try to inject my Plastisol at or around 300°. (I use Dead On Plastix's brand of Plastisol) You also need to use very little pressure on the injector when shooting these types of mold. If you use a lot of pressure when injecting a 3D printed Mold... you can/will blow through the mold. Start light and work up with the pressure if you do not get a full injection or you have bubbles. It's better to have a misformed bait or two than ruin the mold. The Video link below shows How to Inject a 3D Printed Mold, I'd recommend watching before purchasing my molds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FeUszxAK8s Jighead Molds After printing the master mold box for making the mold for the small swimbait style jig heads the actual molds are poured from Mold Max 60 silicone and fit Size 2 Mustad 32756 Classic Aberdeen 90-Degree Bend Extra Strong Short Shank Jig Hooks. I use Tackle Wareahouse WB400 bait keepers for these or you can bend your own from .031 lure wire. Each master mold half can be printed in a (roughly) 4" x 1.75" bed area. See https://youtu.be/BpkxBRYRhTk for a video on making a similar jig head mold. NOTICE - My files and designs are all Copyrighted © and are exclusively for private and personal use.
