BMG Direct Drive Anycubic I3 Mega using MK4

thingiverse

This is a remix of the MK4 direct drive found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4469339 This also uses the X- Carriage and rear parts from the MK4 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3537449 I did not like how my printed version of the body came out when I made it. So I made this to attach my trianglelabs BMG Clone with the E3D v6 hot end for direct drive. Hardware needed: M3 Brass Inserts M3X10 Bolts – 8 M3X20 Button Head Bolt – 1 M3 nut - 1 M3x40 Button Head – 3 I used these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DIUJEPU/ BMG Clone E3D V6 hotend with heatsink clone Pancake motor There are 3 parts. The Back Plate, the BMG Mount Plate, The Hot End Fan Duct. Print the Hot End Fan Duct in PETG. Press inserts in the to 4 points on the Back Plate. Press inserts into the 2 flanges on the fan duct that are next to each other. The other that is offset on the side I was planning on hot gluing to the motor if need be. Attach to the existing MK4 X carriage with the M3X10 bolts. Insert the 3 M3x40 screws through the BMB Mount Plate and then mount the BMG with E3D V6 attached and motor. Attach this to the Back Plate with 4 M3X10 bolts Thread 1 M3X10 through the top mounting point for the fan duct and into the fan duct. Thread the M3 nut onto the M3x20 bolt and run it tight to the head. This is being used as a spacer. Thread the M3x20 with the bolt through the lower fan mount and into the fan duct. This is used to both hold the fan duct and actuate the X stop switch. I have a 40x20 hot end cooling fan on my printer. If you have something different you can adjust the this bolt by removing the nut and using washers. Or nothing at all if it works for you. I will get BL touch offsets out of my firmware and update this post. FYI I am having major issues with my printer right now after doing this. I don’t believe it is related to this design. I think it is firmware, motor, or wiring related. Ignore the part sticking up in the pictures. I was working on installing a PRUSA MMU2S on this. That was for the IR switch. Print at 20% infill and you shouldn’t need supports. Feel free to ask any questions you have.
