The 12V power socket in the trunk of a BMW was broken. The base of the socket with the spring is relatively weak, after frequent use the plug, ste base broke and was always open. After some time the clips of the base has been brokent too, so the 12V socket was loose. So that nobody can accidentally put something in it and make a shortcut in the circuit or something slips into it, I've designed a base myself, so that I can cover it with the original lid. Since I used the 12V in the trunk very often, I've made it very suitable, you have to rework the parts a bit. Also depends on the printer setting and tolerances. - Perhaps a little bit on the outside radius of the base bracket. - Something about the two pins that the cover moves on. - On the surface where the lock is pushed in so that the base is locked and can not be pulled out. - The locking clip The 12V socket has to be pushed into the base with force. Be careful not to pinch your fingers! I didn't use the spring in my design anymore, that is a weak point and always fiddling with one hand to hold the cover against the spring and insert the plug with the other.
