Bodyboard

My fifth project is dedicated to my favorite sport: bodyboarding. Tom Morey who simply cut a rectangular shape of polyethylene foam and covered it with newspaper invented Bodyboarding in 1971. The way these boards are manufactured keeps evolving. Foam is still the main material (either polyethylene or polypropylene) but there are many different types of structure (one or two stringer(s) for flexibility, 3D core, etc…). Engineers in the bodyboarding industry continue to improve their design as the sport’s limits are constantly pushed further. Bodyboarding is my favorite sport so I felt the need to use my CAD design skills to try and shape a bodyboard of my own. I only used my own knowledge about bodyboards in order to create the curves and surfaces that this model is made of. I hope you like it as much as I do. Please don't hesitate to leave a comment, share your thoughts, anything... Cheers, Vincent
