The Boeing 747. Iconic, beautiful, revolutionary. The 747-8 is the latest and most likely final revision of the "Jumbo Jet". This is my 3D printable rendition. 60 Versions, 8 months of on and off work, and many many hours of my inner perfectionist forcing me to rework every little detail. The fully assembled model is nearly 556mm (X) * 622mm (Y) * 150mm (Z), making this a 1:137 scale model. UPDATE 12/20/2018: I have now added gear to this model. To use the gear, you must print all parts with the word "gear" in the name. This consists of the left and right wing supporting structures, inner left and right wing sections, the gear assemblies themselves (there are 3 assemblies. The nose gear, which you only need 1 of, and the inner and outer rear gear bogies. You need 2 of each type of rear bogie.), and the nose section of the airplane. Printing instructions are listed in print instructions section. UPDATE 6/20/2018: I have now added a stand for this model. Still in progress of printing mine, so it is currently untested. There are 2 versions, the "Short Stand" is designed to hold the model just above the surface the stand is placed on, while the "Tall Stand" is designed to hold the model at least 100mm off the surface the stand is on. Both hold the aircraft in a nose-up position. For either one, the "Cradle" part is required, as this actually holds the model on the stand. Given it is just a cradle, the model can easily be lifted off if needed. This model has some vastly improved print-ability over my previous designs, now including alignment pins (lots and lots of them), flat mating surfaces, and properly sliced sections. There are 2 versions of the aircraft. The 1st is the standard, base 747-8. No livery, no nothing. The 2nd version is the Lufthansa livery, which has the company name and logo debossed into the model. I also included a fully assembled model for reference, but I would not recommend printing it. My build is coming, and I will post it the instant I finish printing all the parts. I'm just waiting on a few replacement bearings for my printer. For anyone interested, the original design is available here: https://a360.co/2Lw9krr If you have any questions, feel free to comment. If you make one, please post a make. If you really like my work, I would very much appreciate you sharing it, or if you feel very inclined, you can throw some money at me with the tip button. Thank you!
